Role Purpose

To use technical expertise to create and develop BIM models and design composite models in alignment with BIM plans, providing innovative solutions while upholding best practices, and adhering to regulatory requirements to ensure the accurate realization of models aligned with project specifications and requirements.

Key Accountabilities

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

  • Follow all relevant departmental processes, policies, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

BIM Model Creation and Maintenance

  • Create, update, and revise BIM models and 3D BIM models in accordance with BIM plans, ensuring their adherence to overall project specifications, Nesma & Partners’ Preconstruction & VDC standards and industry best practices.
  • Develop BIM model plans and ensure their compliance with BIM models and VDC/BIM implementation plans, ensuring their consistency with BIM standards, and interdisciplinary interfaces.
  • Produce 2D drawings and shop drawings, maintaining accuracy with relevance to project standards and specifications, to produce project-deliverable packages for transmittal and submission.
  • Perform reengineering support tasks (plotting drawings, preparing transmittals, file management) to ensure integration with construction workflows.
  • Study industry developments for BIM related and 3D authoring tools, to ensure the implementation of industry best practices throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Accountabilities

Design Coordination

  • Produce composite design models to support design coordination throughout development, ensuring the creation of data-rich models that effectively support the projects objectives.
  • Study BIM models for quality, accuracy, clashes, and extract quantities, to produce detection reports for design conflicts on all hard and soft collisions, supporting informed decision making and discrepancy identification.
  • Effectively integrate BIM models throughout all phases, maintaining records of all issued and received models, drawings, clash reports and RFIs.
  • Perform reengineering support tasks (plotting drawings, preparing transmittals, file management) to ensure integration with construction workflows.

Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.

  • Conduct all activities in a safe and environmentally responsible manner in compliance with internal policies and guidelines.

  • Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate reports to meet department requirements, policies, and quality standards.

Technical Essential

Education/Certification

  • Bachelors in Engineering, or any other related field.

Experience

  • 2-4 years’ related experience in roles within similar positions.

Languages

  • English

Skills

Regulatory Compliance Knowledge, Computer-Aided Design (CAD and BIM), Mathematical Modeling, Design Interpretation & Engineering detailing, Building Information Modelling (BIM) proficiency and Coordination, Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) Tools.

Techical Preferred

Education/Certification

  • Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), BIM Informed Professional (BIP), or any similar certifications.

Experience

  • Experience in the EPC industry.
